Daniel Pugh is a classically trained violinist with twenty years experience in music production. His work includes composition, sound design, soundtrack and remix.

 biography

Daniel's first introduction to music was through playing violin and piano. He was lead violin in the school and local area orchestra.

He began writing music in the mid 80's using a BBC B Micro and its 8bit sound chip. You could download these from the bulletin board (a precursor to the internet) CCL4.

In the late 80's he borrowed some basic studio kit and produced many tracks for the indie band Pavlov. They released the "Hailstone ep" on 7" vinyl in 1991 and their cover of "Blue Eyes" appeared on a tribute to The Wedding Present CD.

Using the moniker DJP he started to compose techno and electronica. For two years he was a DJ for the original internet radio station gaialive.com. In 1998 his track "Shoe Gazer Star Gazer" appeared on the cover mount CD of Future Music magazine.

Recent releases include "Five Bar Funk", a 7" vinyl single for Projector Records and the "Chamber Electronica EP#1", available from all the major digital download stores.

His composition and sound design clients include VW, the Discovery Channel and MTV2. He has also produced soundtracks for short film and animation.

Daniel's distinctive sound is inspired by his classical music training and a passion for both electronic and acoustic sounds.
